Editing content
Introducing the Content HUD
All content on your store (Views, Pages & Products) is editable by a rich media editor based on Aloha Editor, "the world's most advanced HTML5 WYSIWYG editor", in their own words. We've used it as the base of our built-in content editor - the Content HUD. We added a couple of modifications to make it even more advanced, & removed a couple of features to make it even simpler.
Editing web-based content without needing to know HTML
Editing any content with the Content Hud is similar, & in many aspects better, to editing with a word processor on your desktop: there is no need to learn any HTML or another markup language. While you are editing content certain options spring up to allow you to easily format text, link text, switch syntax & even upload images live to the content area you are working in. Managing content has never been this easy.

How the Content HUD works
Selecting content
When you select content in a content area the selection aspect of the Content HUD will spring up as close to your cursor as possible; allowing you to format text (bold or italics) or to link text to an URL you specify.
Inserting content
When you create a new line in a content area the insertion aspect of the Content HUD will spring up to the left of the content block; allowing you to insert an image (if there are images uploaded to the current area you are working on) or to insert an HTML widget should be more fine-grained content-management be required. Otherwise simply start typing (or pasting) text to kick off the process.
Switching content
When you are working in any block of content the switching aspect of the Content HUD is always present to the right of the content block; allowing you to switch the context of a content block between a paragraph and standard HTML headings, or back again.
Managing images
When you select an image (that you have embedded in your content by using the insertion aspect of the Content HUD) image options will spring up: allowing you to set the alignment of an image (left/right/center), size of an image (depending on the sizes available to a theme), the alt text of an image, and if required, the link of an image allowing you to link the image to other content in your store or on the Internet.
A solid base for future features
The Content HUD is one of those things we'll continue to improve upon & release new functionality as & when it becomes required. So far it's already light-years ahead of any other WYSIWYG editor and we hope you enjoy using it to get the most out of the content you add to your store.
